Harvest time at Gisborne Peak Winery 2017

5 weeks later than last year’s pick we have enjoyed a busy and productive weekend at the vineyard.

Joined by many Adopt-A-Vine members, friends, family and staff we completed picking a quality and abundant amount of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.  In approximately 10 days our Semillon and Riesling will also be harvested.

Bob is very pleased with this year’s yield and we are now looking forward to tasting the fruits of our labour.

After a safety and technique briefing from Bob our teams were sent out to the vines in the Autumn sun to first pick the vines they had adopted then the rest of the vines with breaks for a hearty, communal morning tea before picking again until being served a cooked lunch of homemade soup by Barbara and Wood Fired Pizzas at our Cellar Door complemented by wine from our current range.

It is a great way to meet new friends and fellow wine lovers and to learn about the art of wine growing from a seasoned professional Vigneron.  It certainly makes you appreciate the work and dedication it takes all year round to produce a successful, premium vintage, especially in our beautiful but challenging region of the Macedon Ranges in Victoria.
